Critical thinking and media literacy

Purpose

The e-learning course CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY can be used both by teachers and students during classroom activity as stimulus, simplified explanation, introduction or matter of discussion on specific aspects or techniques of critical thinking applied in different contexts, e.g., in media literacy, social media, science, economics, politics, forensics, problem solving or everyday life.

Structure

The course is made up by four modules. The first module contains two lessons which introduce critical thinking and media literacy. The other three modules regard DEBUNKING and SELF-NUDGING TECHNIQUES, and BIASES AND IRRATIONAL BELIEFS.

Each lesson contains an animation, questions for discussions and suggestions for further classroom activities.
