Purpose

The e-learning course CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY can be used both by teachers and students during their classes. Its applications range from introducing the topics, to sparking the debate, from stimulating curiosity, to explaining the concepts in an easier and more interactive way. It is also useful to illustrate thoroughly how critical thinking can be applied to different contexts like social media, science, economics, politics, forensics, problem solving, and many more areas of everyday life.

Structure and content

The course consists of three modules:

  • Debunking misinformation by using reliable sources
  • Raising awareness on biases and irrational beliefs
  • Self-nudging

Each module contains:

  • an introductory lesson to the teaching approach
  • lessons with practical exercises and activities that can be carried out in the classroom with the students
